Staff of a Indian Oil petrol pump station on busy Mysore road foiled a robbery attempt by two armed men in Byatarayanapura police station limits on Monday evening.
Senior officer told media persons,The attackers approached the cashier on the pretext of inquiring an address and tried to snatch the cash bag after pulling out a dagger/machet and was flashing at him to escape with the cash bag.
But the cashier held
the bag tightly were in the armed person was seen trying to cut the bag with the machete or dagger which he had immediately the cashier raised the alarm and dodged the attack and held on to the bag.
The other staff rushed to his help and pelted stones at the attacker since they were armed.Sensing trouble the attacker sped away leaving the bag and the cashier back.
The Byatarayanapura police rushed to the spot and conducted a probe and collected the CCTV footage from in and around the area to identify the attacker.
