BMTC driver convicted with one month imprisonment &Rs.2000 fine for rash driving

The Metropolitan Magistrate Traffic court on Friday convicted BMTC driver under rash driving and sentenced him to undergo one month imprisonment and a fine of Rs.2000 in a rash driving case registered against him in Jalahalli traffic police station in the year 2019.

The convicted BMTC driver has been identified as,Manjunath HN, attached to Peenya depot was droving BMTC bus on june 2019 and moved the bus from HMT hospital stop when the victim Savitha SV, was trying to board.which resulted in she fell and sustained injuries.

The Jalahalli traffic police registered a case against Manjunath and filed charge sheet before the 3rd traffic court.

Manjunath contested the charge sheet but the police followed it and ensured that he is convicted.

Based on the eye witness evidence and other evidence collected in the case and produced before the court after scrutinizing the documents and evidence magistrate sentenced him with simple imprisonment for one month and a 2000 rupees fine for driving in rash and Negligent manner without noticing the victim is boarding the bus.

Its a simple accident case,got conviction for just 1 month and fine of Rs 2000.It is important because in accident cases which are contested getting convictions is challenging for us, a senior police officer, said.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated the then senior officers and staff who has done a exemplary work in collecting concrete evidence against the BMTC driver and after putting their full efforts in getting convicted as it is big challenging for the traffic police for the commendable job done by the team,Joint CP Traffic, Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda, DCP Traffic West, Kuldeep Kumar R Jain appreciated the whole team for their excellent investigation he added.
