A 21-year-old student was killed after a college bus knocked down her scooter before running over her near Raitara Sante in Yelahanka on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sai Vaishnavi,resident of Shivanahalli and persuing final year BSC bio tech course in MS Ramaiah college.
Senior officer told media persons,Vaishnavi was on her way to pick up her sister from tuitions on her scooter when the accident occurred.
She reached the service road and trying to overtake the colege bus passing by and confronted a cyclist.
She lost control and collided with the bus and came under the back wheel and run over.
Though she was wearing a helmet it was not strapped and the helmet fell away,a senior officer said.
Passers-by rushed the profusely bleeding Vaishnavi to Yelahanka hospital where the doctors declared her as brought dead.
The Yelahanka police booked the bus driver identified as Devraj,charging him under rash and negligent driving and death due to negligence for further investigation.
