Yashvanth Kumar,DSP,Cyber Crime Division,CID has won and accorded the prestigious DSCI India Cyber Cop of the year-2021 for detecting cases using forensic and digital evidence.
Yashavantha Kumar,Deputy Superintendent of Police,Cyber Crime Division,CID Karnataka has been awarded the India Cyber Cop of the year-2021 by Data Security Council of India (DSCI) for the outstanding investigation carried out in criminal case involving trading of Children Sexually Abusive Material(CSAM) online.
The award was given by Ajay Prakash Sawhney IAS,Secretary,Ministry of Electronics and IT,Govt.of India on 16th December 2021.
Over 55 cases were sent by various state police units and three finalists while the Uttarakhand,Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka Police were shortlisted.
DSCI instituted the Excellence Awards since 2010 to recognise and honour an officer who has done the most outstanding investigation in solving a Cybercrime case.
This is the second time CID Karnataka is conferred with the Excellence Awards.Previously, Mr. M D Sharath, SP Cyber Crime Division was presented with the India Cyber Cop of the year award in 2015 for solving an online job fraud case.
