ISIS Kerala Module Case : NIA arrests woman with ISIS-links in Mangaluru

The NIA officials in a joint operation with Karnataka Police arrested a woman related to the family of a former MLA for her alleged links with the ISIS militants.

Krishna Kumar,DSP,Assistant Investigating Officer,NIA,Delhi along with Ajay Singh PI and Monika Dhikwal arrested Mariam, who is wife of Anas Abdul Rahiman, son of Basha.

The accused Mundadiguttu Sadananda Marla Deepthi Marlah alias Maryam wife of Anas Abdul Rahiman,son of BM Basha,whose house was raided by NIA earlier in August last year.

BM Basha is son of former MLA BM Idinabba.

 

Deepthi Marla,hailed from Kodagu district,fell in love with Anas while persuing her BDS course in Mangaluru .

After marriage she converted to Islam and changed her name to Mariam.

The NIA had conducted searches and arrested 11 accused persons for raising funds,radicalizing and motivating people to join ISIS.However the NIA officials questioned Mariam for two days and did not arrest her.

During investigation, it has been revealed that after the decline of ISIS Caliphate in Syria/Iraq, Deepthi marla and Mohd.Ameen had visited Kashmir in January and March, 2020 for Hijrah (Religious migration) and for engaging in terrorist acts and supporting the activities of ISIS.

The four persons arrested were identified by NIA as Obaid Hamid and Muzammil Hassan Bhat from Kashmir, Ammar Abdul Rahman from Mangaluru and Shankar Venkatesh Perumal, alias Ali Muaviya, from Bengaluru.

They were accused of involvement in raising funds, radicalising and motivating more people to join ISIS.

Investigation has also revealed that Deepthi Marla was the kingpin of the instant ISIS conspiracy along with Mohd Ameen says a official release by NIA.
