Youth bludgeoned to death by armed gang over trivial row

A 19 year old youth was bludgeoned to death by armed gang over a fight for Rs.1200,in Konanakunte on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Mehboob,a resident of Konanakunte who worked in a mobile phones repair shop.

Senior officer as DCP, South,Harish Pandey,with others visited the spot and after inspecting the spot he said,it is found that Mehaboob’s friend Lalith Kumar had given a hand loan of Rs.1,200 to a common friend Manikanta about a year ago but the latter had not returned the money.

On Tuesday evening, Lalith Kumar and Manikanta had a heated argument over returning the money and Mehaboob had taken Kumar’s side during the argument and humiliated Manikanta. Passers-by later intervened and pacified Kumar and Mankanita left the place.

After a while,Manikanta was enraged over humiliation ganged up with his friends Darshan, Karthik,Pavan,Kiran, and others came near Kumar’s house in AK Colony and spotted Mehaboob there.

They attacked Mehaboob with wooden sticks and stabbed him in his back with a knife before escaping from the scene.

Mehboob was rushed to a nearby hospital,where he succumbed to the injuries a few hours later ,” the police said,

The accused are labourers from neighbouring districts came to city to work.They are aged 18-20 years and are absconding,a police officer said.

The Konanakunte police have registered a murder case and are on the lookout for the accused he added.
