BBMP Chief Commissioner instructs the officials to take up necessary steps regarding bed reservation for covid-19 patients:

As the Covid 19 cases are increasing rapidly in the city, BBMP Chief Commissioner,Gaurav Gupta has instructed the officials to take up necessary measures regarding the bed reservation for covid 19 patients at private hospitals- in accordance to the government’s order immediately.

Addressing a virtual meeting to discuss Covid Hospital Bed Management System(CHBMS) in BBMP limits, today, the chief commissioner said that, the rise in the number of covid 19 cases in the city might form fear in general public; but the fear is unnecessary.

With the proper arrangements of beds at hospitals (govt & private), in accordance to the government’s order, the conditions would be tackled efficiently.

There are around 60,000 covid tests are being taken up daily in the city.

Daily admission rate (number of people getting admitted) at hospitals has seen an increase from 20 to 60 admissions per day.

But, the infected persons need not be worried. BBMP’s tele triaging team and mobile triaging team of concerned ward will check the health conditions of the infected.

Only the infected-to whom hospitalization is necessary, will be admitted to hospital. other may continue with home isolation, the chief commissioner said.

Most of the covid 19 cases will be asymptomatic and such persons can be get cured at their home itself. Citizens should be aware of it.

With proper triaging, only the patients who are in need of medical attention should be sent to hospitals and others to their home.

Zone wise personnel should be deployed to ensure proper triaging. Zonal coordinators should monitor the system, chief commissioner said.

In the city, CV Raman nagar General hospital, KC General hospital, Jayanagar hospital and Bowring hospitals are declared as covid hospitals and reserved for covid treatment.

Enough beds are available at private hospitals too. Need not to be panicked, said the chief commissioner.

With the active operations by covid war rooms and PHCs at each wards, everything must be alright, he added.

People rushing for bed,oxygen,ICU in private hospitals should not be happened. No scarcity of bed should happen. Bed allotment should be in a transparent way, he ordered the officers.

Ensure 10,000 to 12,000 beds:

According to government order, 10,000 to 12,000 beds should be made available in private hospitals by January 16 in BBMP limits.

With regard, nodal officers should visit and inspect the hospitals and should instruct them (hospitals) to keep the beds reserved for covid treatment, the chief commissioner said.

He also instructed the officials to collect exact data on the number of beds in hospitals, occupied and unoccupied beds.

Helpdesk at 100+ bedded hospitals:

Helpdesk should be opened at the hospitals which are with more than 100 beds. They should provide necessary information to the general public visiting hospital.

Deploy needed personnel for that.Ensure Arogya Mithras at all the hospitals,the chief commissioner said.
