The South Division police of Girinagar police on Tuesday opened fire at notorious rowdy-sheeter who attacked the policemen in a bid of escape.
The accused has been identified as,Narasimha Reddy, a resident of Hosakerehalli having 36 cases pending against him.
A senior police officer said Reddy was absconding since six months after the court had issued a arrest warrant against him He was hiding in his relatives house in Tamil Nadu .
The Hosakerehalli police inspector Deepak received a tip off that Narasimha Reddy is coming to pick up his associates to go to Andhra Pradesh.
Based on credible information,sub inspector Sunil K,Raghu Nayak along with two policemen rushed near Hosakerehalli kere koddi lake side and intercepted his car and warned him to surrender .
In a bid of escape he attacked the team with a machete and tried to flee.Sub inspector opened one round fire in air and asked him to surrender but as he tried to attack sub inspector again.In retaliation the sub inspector opened fire at his right leg.Both Reddy and police constable Mohan were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Reddy was involved in several criminal cases including,Double Murder,attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity and chain snatching and operating a gang in the city is landed in police net.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP South,Harish Pandey,PI,Deepak,PSI,Sunil K,Raghu Nayak and Constable,Mohan and others who has played on their life and nabbed the notorious most wanted dreaded rowdy sheeter wanted in more than 36 cases a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
