The Mahalakshmi Layout police on Saturday arrested a gang of five including two rowdysheeters who posing as policemen raided the house of a private firm employee and robbed gold valuables and Rs.19 lakhs cash.
The accused identified as Balakrishna,23, Chethan Kumar,27,both rowdy sheeters in Bagalagunte and Yelahanka police station limits and their associates,Punith,24,Prithvi 23,and Rohith,24.
The accused had also abducted minor son demanding ransom and later abandoned him and fled the scene .
A complaint was filed by a victim after he got to know that they were fake police Samaya Nayak said in his complaint 4-5 persons posing as policemen barged into his house situated in Bhovipalya and robbed gold valuables and cash from the house on December 31.
The accused also took the son of Samay Nayak with them demanding ransom.The accused fearing that they would be caught abandoned the boy and escaped.
As the incident reported immediately Mahalakshmi layout police station Inspector and other senior officers as,DCP,North,Vinayak Patil, ACP,KS Venkatesh Naidu,PI, Kantharaju HM and his crime staff rushed to the spot and after taking stock of the situation and inspecting the scene of crime.
Senior officer told reporters,based on the complaint,the Mahalakshmi layout police formed a special team and the team swung into action and analysed CCTV footage and identified the miscreants and their car number.
Based on the identity of the accused and car number the team track down the accused.
During investigation the accused confessed to the crime and it was found that one of the accused is related to the victim and hatched a plan to rob money for his business venture .
After arresting the accused the police found that Rohith is related to Samay Nayak and had asked for money to start his business.
But Nayak refused to lend the money stating that he needed the money for the higher education of his children.
Enraged by this Rohith ganged up with his associates and hatched a plan to rob.
Based on their statement the team have recovered 16 lakh worth valuables including 318 grams of gold ornaments and,Rs.10.3 lakh cash,two bikes and a knife from them.
The Mahalakshmi layout police have booked all the five accused under robbery,abduction and impersonation and efforts are on to track down one more person who is on the run.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP North,Vinayak Patil,ACP,KS Venkatesh Naidu,PI,Kantharaju HM,PSI,Lepakshmurthi RJ,and Vinayak K,and crime staff as, Srinivasmurthy,Naresh,Chowdegowda,Abhay Kumar,Chethan kumar,Santhosh,has been appreciated for the commendable and exemplary work done by them in nabbing the five member gang as Fake policemen and recovered valuables from them a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
