Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has expressed his griet at the demise of ‘Gaana Saraswathi’ Lata Mangeshkar.
Lata is an ever shining star on the Indian horizon of music.She has enriched the world of music beyond the limits of time.Her singing was not confined to cinema songs.
She has mesmerised the music lovers through her bhajans, devotional songs and patriotic songs.
Especially her rendition of ‘Ae Mere Vatan Ke Logon’ is as immortal as the Himalayas. The song brings tears brimmed with patriotic fervor even today. Her voice is so sweet and inspiring, Bommai said.
Lata will remain in our hearts as long as there is music and singing in this world. She will live on eternally, Bommais said as he turned emotional.
Lata has rendered Kannada songs too and she has a Kannada connect. Her songs are immensely popular. Her death has plunged us in sorrow. It is sad that the ‘Nightingale of India’ has stopped singing.Me and our generation grew up listening to her songs,Bommai recalled.
“I pray to the almighty to bestow eternal peace for the departed soul and give strength to her innumerable fans to bear this grief.
She will remain an eternally shining star in the world of music. Her songs are in the air every second in some or the other part of the country. Lata will remain in our hearts every moment,” Bommai said in his condolence message.
CM calls Usha Mangeshkar&consoles Usha Mangeshkar
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai conveyed his grief to the family of Nightingale of India,Lata Mangeshkar,as he called Usha Mangeshkar, sister of the legendary singer over phone.
Lata Mangeshkar will live on in the hearts and breath of the people for generations. She has a special place in the hearts of the people. We have lost a great singer.
A state mourning has been ordered in Karnataka, the Chief Minister told Usha Mangeshkar over the phone.
State Mourning
The Karnataka government has ordered state mourning of 2 days as a mark of respect for Lata Mangeshkar.There would be no public recreational programmes and the national flag will fly half mast during the mourning period, a state government notification said.
CM Bommai consoles Lata’s sister Asha Bhosle
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai called Lata Mangeshkar’s sister Asha Bhosle and conveyed his condolences for the demise of Lata.
Bommai consoled Asha and said the death of Nightingale of India is an immense loss for the world of music. “I pray to the almighty to give you the strength to bear this pain and grief,” Bommai said over the phone to Asha.
Asha expressed her appreciation for Bommai and recalled her association with people of Karnataka.She spoke about some of her relatives who have settled down in Karnataka.
The Chief Minister conveyed his grief and prayers to the almighty to bestow eternal peace for the departed soul.
