The Peenya police on Thursday arrested a 65-year-old man for clandestinely recording the videos and pictures of women and girls in his neighborhood in Peenya.
The accused has been identified as,Narayana Gowda,a retired factory worker used to live in a rented house with his wife after the marriage of their daughter.
Senior officer told media persons,acting on a complaint the team arrested the accused and during investigation the accused confessed the crime and it was revealed that he would record the videos and pictures of women while they were cleaning and washing as part of daily chores .
The incident came to light when few women noticed the accused while recording the videos and objected.
Fearing that he would be caught red handed the accused escaped from the scene but left behind the mobile phone.
The residents handed over the phone to the police and filed a complaint.The police verified the phones and recovered many videos and pictures of women and girls and later arrested him.
The accused refuted the allegation and blamed the neighbors and the landlord for conspiring against him to force him vacate the house.
However there was no response from him when confronted with the videos and pictures which he had recorded from his phone,a police officer, said.
