The Kamakashipalya police on Saturday arrested a 37-year-old habitual offender who was harassing women on Phones.
The accused has been identified as, Ramakrishna,having many alias names including Manjunath,Prashanth,Praveen and Divyaraj,as per records as many as 14 harassment complaints filed against him in police stations across the city and also in Tumakuru.
Raj went by different names such as Krishna, Ramakrishna, Manjunath, Praveen and Prashanth and his friends called him Chool, said the police who recovered his mobile phones.
Despite this the accused go to know that the police are on his lookout and called to challenge them to arrest him.
Senior officer told media persons,the accused even challenged the Kamakshipalya police who called him to station for questioning as a complaint was registered against him.
As he challenged a special team headed by PI, Prashanth,swung into action and with the help of technical inputs the team arrested him.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime .A detailed questioning revealed that the accused is a pervert and collects the phone numbers of the working women including advocate and even women police personnel , citing that he need legal help to file a complaint.
He would even collect phone numbers of home makers and college students and harass them.
After getting the numbers he would call them at night and harass them by sending objectionable pics and videos .
The accused would call and abuse them verbally when victims objected,a senior officer,said .
The team found hundreds of objectionable pictures and videos of women and children from his phone and taken him into custody for further investigations.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP, Nanjundegowda,PI,Prashanth and his whole team for the excellent work done by them in nabbing the notorious criminal a psycho who has been a nightmare and given sleepless nights to many innocent women now the pervert is cooling his heels in jail and a special reward will be given to the team he added.
