The Jayanagar police on tuesday busted fake marks card and degree certificate racket and arrested four persons who were selling marks cards and degree certificates of several universities for a price ranging from Rs 50,00 to Rs.75,000.
The accused has been identified as,Dhamendra and his associates Naresh,Raghu and Dileep.
They were caught while they were looking for a prospective customers near a college in Jayanagar to sell the degree certificates.
Senior officer told media persons,the Jayanagar police inspector,UR Manjunath received a credible information that four persons are indulged in selling fake marks cards and degree certificate and are near college looking for dropouts and failed students.
Based on tip off,a team of police headed by PI,UR Manjunath and his crime staff rushed to the spot and surrounded the area and kept a close watch on their movements and after getting confirmation the team caught them red handed while they were looking for prospective customers.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and it was found that the accused Dharmendra has completed a post graduation and running a coaching center to print and sell degree certificates for a price.
The accused would move around the colleges to looking for drop outs and failed students offering them degree certificates of any university .
The accused would print degree certificates and marks cards of any universities and sell it to the candidates for a price ranging from Rs 50,000 to any degree,Rs 75,000 for any engineering degree and Rs 25,000 for a second PU course.
The accused would ask the candidates on how much marks they needed and would print depending upon their choice.
Investigations so far revealed that the accused running the racket for over one year and sold over 150 degree certificates so far.
The Jayanagar police inspector and team raided the house of Naresh and seized 150 marks cards, with stickers and logos,printer and cash of Rs 2 lakh from his house.
After their arrest the team has recovered 200 fake marks cards logos, sticker and other documents from their possession and Rs.4.6 lakhs has been seized from their account and further investigation is on.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP,South,Harish Pandey,ACP,KV Srinivas, PI,UR Manjunath,PSIs,as,Chandan Kale, Ravikumar MH,ASI,Lakshmanachar KV,and crime staff as,Srinivas NR,Mohan,Syed Mustafa,Sunil Kumar,Tanaji Morey,Basavaraj Balloli,Chethan Kumar and others have been appreciated for the commendable and exemplary work done by them in nabbing all the accused and busted the racket and a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
