Notorious bike lifter arrested by Jayanagar police,10 stolen bikes worth Rs.7 lakhs recovered

The Jayanagar police arrested a 24-year-old bike lifter and recovered 10 two wheelers worth Rs 7 lakh from him.

The accused has been identified as Manjunatha,24,from Gouribidanur.

Senior officer told reporters,the accused was caught when he was riding a stolen scooter and tried to escape after noticing the police conducting random vehicle check drive.

Manjunath dumped the bike he was riding and began to flee.The cops pinned him down after a hot chase.

Later Manjunath was brought to the station and a detailed questioning led him to confess to the crime and it was found that he was riding a stolen scooter.

A detailed investigation by the team the accused said that he would move around the city to identify the parked bikes in front of the house and steal them.

He would use duplicate keys and also knew the technique of breaking the hand locks and starting the bike without keys.

During investigation the team grilled him who spilled the beans and based on his confession the team headed by PI,U R Manjunath and their crime staff recovered the stolen bikes and taken him into custody for further investigations.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP,South,Harish Pandey,ACP,KV Srinivas,PI, UR Manjunath,PSI,Mahesh K,and crime staff as,Ambarish,Kiran Kumar BN,Pirappa Iradogi,Siddappa Kabur,Basavaraj Baloli,Chethan kumar has done a tremendous and excellent investigation in recovering the stolen bikes from the accused a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
