Unseen challenges- Honey bees attack freedom park bandobast staff,2 policemen in ICU

As many as 12 police personnel sustained injuries after they came under honey bee attack near the Freedom Park where they had assembled for duty assignment on Thursday.

Three among them including an ASI and two head constables were admitted to private hospital as they had severe injuries while the rest were discharges after getting first aid .

Senior officer told reporters,as many as 150 police personnel assembled outside the directorate of collegiate education building near freedom park where Upparpet police inspector,Shivaswamy was assigning them bandobast duties .

Suddenly a swarm of bees attacked and the police personnel ran helterskelter to save themselves .

Luckily the incident took place before the protests started at the Freedom Park,else it would have been a disaster as the premises can accommodate thousands of people,the police said .

The passers-by also ran away to safety to save themselves from the attack and were escaped from the attack in nick of time.

There was a big bee hive at the building and posing danger to the passers-by.

We have asked the authorities to remove the hive, till then deployed a sentry to watch over the hive.

The police are now probing the possibility whether bees were disturbed by someone investigation is underway.
