Five held,Nine year old rescued by Marathahalli police & NGO in Bengaluru

In a joint operation a swift action,by the Marathahalli police along with members of NGO raided a labour camp in Munekolala and rescued a nine year old girl who was shackled and kept in a makeshift house for five months to recover loan from her mother.

The incident came to light when mother of the victim who was also chained and detained along with her managed to escaped and approached city based social actvisit,R.Kaleemullah,who in turn sought the help of police to rescue the girl .

Senior officer told media persons,based on information A team of police led by Inspector Marathahalli raided the house and rescued the girl .

The police also detained five persons including the prime accused who allegedly lend money to the victim’s mother and chained her five months ago,after she failed to pay up .

The woman aged around 35-years,hailed from West Bengal and working as domestic help at an apartment and living with her nine year old daughter.

The victim also alleged that the accused had harassed and tortured her physically and assaulted her sexually too.

However the police are probing further and subjected both the victims for medical examination to ascertain the facts .

The rescued girl is also being subjected to medical care and counselling,as part of the investigations said a senior officer.
