The mobile forest squad caught a 27-year-old man red handed while he was trying to sell two star tortoises to the passers-by on roadside on Tuesday .
Based on tip off,a team headed by Deputy Conservator of Forest,GA Gangadhar and team rushed to Mattikere main road and arrested Mohammed Haroon,near an aquarium and rescued the tortoises .
The rescued tortoises have been sent to Bannerghatta rescue centre.The accused has been booked under wildlife protection act and taken into custody to ascertain the source of the tortoises.
