Notorious inter-state car thief arrested by Amruthahalli police,recovered stolen cars Worth Rs.4 Crore,21 thefts cases detected

The Northeast Division police of Amruthahalli police on Wednesday arrested a 41-year-old inter state car thief who is giving sleepless nights to police of many states .

Senior officer told media persons,Based on a SUV theft complaint at Amruthahalli,DCP, Northeast, Dr Anoop A Shetty led a 19 member special team under the supervision of ACP,Rangappa,T,PI, Guruprasad G and team pressed into action the team worked relentlessly day and night and based on technical inputs and other investigation skill the team track down the accused Satyendra Singh Shekhawath from his hometown Jodhpur in Rajasthan,

During investigations the accused confessed the crime and revealed that the accused was involved in 14 car theft cases in Bengaluru,five cases in Hyderabad and one case in Rajasthan.

The team have recovered electronic gadgets which he was using to break into the lock systems of SUV cars and a bunch of duplicate keys which he was using to steal the cars .

The accused would roam around Metro cities to zeroing in on SUVs and expensive cars and steal them using the specialized tools he has .

The accused would later drive the cars to Rajasthan and sold to his customers who would use these cars for criminal activities.

Two of the cars which the accused had stolen and sold were already seized by Rajasthan police in a drug case.

On October 19,the accused had stolen a SUV parked in the visitors parking lot at Godrej apartment complex owned by Abhishek B.

Based on the complaint the police analyzed the CCTV footage identified and arrested the accused .

The accused is a habitual offender involved in car thefts since 2003 having cases in Delhi,Gujarat, Rajasthan,Maharastra,Diu daman,Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

He targets only SUVs and so far stolen 40 cars, the police added .

So far the team has able to detect 21 vehicle theft cases and recovered the vehicles worth Rs. 4 crore from him. further investigations are on.

A 19 member special team has detected 21 theft cases committed in Bangalore, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana,@CPBlr @BlrCityPolice said in his tweet.
