Anchor Bank soon to aid Women’s Self Help Groups: Bommai

A n Anchor Bank would be established within a month to meet the financial needs of the members of Women’s Self Help Groups.

It would herald a revolution in employment in the state, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Bommai, in his address after inaugurating the 10 day ‘National Sanjeevini Saras Mela’ at National College Grounds organised by National Rural and Urban Livelihood Campaign said, Rs500 cr grant has been provided in the budget to strengthen Women’s Self Help Groups.

This would make about 4 lakh women economically self reliant.

The budget has also provided Rs47,000 cr for various programmes related to welfare of women and another Rs43,000 cr for child welfare schemes.

CM buys saree for wife

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who went around the stalls before inaugurating the fair purchased a saree for his wife paying Rs2500.He appreciated the weavers and artisans for the attractive products on sale.
