S ampigehalli police inspector and his staff in the dock for allegedly settling a civil dispute at his office without following the legal procedure.

37-year-old Asha K,businesswoman filed a complaint with the city police commissioner, Kamal Pant seeking necessary action.

In her statement she said that she was owning a home decor business at Hegde nagar successfully for few years and also paying the rent on time.

On March 10,a man by Laksminarayana along with his associates barged into her office and demanded that the shop belonged to him.

Asha and her husband called 112 and later the police arrived and asked them to go to police station and file a complaint.

As soon as they went to the station Inspector KT Nagaraj intimidated the couple stating that they have been accused of cheating Lakshinarayana of Rs.80 lakh and threatened to arrest them.

The inspector instead of receiving the complaint told the couple to pay up the amount or vacate the shop .

He forced them to stay back at the station till 11.45 pm and later on the next day coerced them to give statement on stamp paper and handed over the shop keys to Lakshmi Narayana.

Nagaraja also allegedly threatened the couple to escalate the issue and threatened to arrest them if they complained to anyone .

However the couple after consulting an advocate filed a complaint with the ACP who directed the Inspector to take up the complaint and investigate.

Despite directions from the ACP,the inspector refused to receive the complaint from the couple not conducted probe into the case.

Unable to get justice the couple approached city police commissioner who again directed the DCP to look into the matter and a FIR has been registered and further investigation is on under the supervision of DCP, Northeast,Dr Anoop A Shetty.
