Sri Murugha Sharana Seer’s birthday would henceforth be celebrated as the ‘Equality Day’ by the State government,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the Birthday celebrations of Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Sharana of Chitradurga Mutt which is being celebrated as ‘Equality Day.’
It is ideal to celebrate the Day as ‘Equality Day’ as Dr. Shivamurthy Murugha Sharana pontiff has been striving to spread the ideals of Basavanna.
The seer has been the voice of the voiceless and serving the cause of the weaker sections, Bommai said.
This country has a history of 5000 years. A society with conscience and character will take the country to the pinnacle of glory.
There are many preachers in the country, but what is needed is putting them into practice, Bommai said.
Niranjananandapuri Swamiji of Kanaka Guru Peetha, Murugha Sharana of Chitradurga Mutt, Siddalinga Swami of Siddaganga Mutt and other dignitaries were present.
