A 56-year-old retired armyman was hammered to death at his house in Halasuru over suspected property dispute on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as,Jude Suresh,a divorcee and living alone at the house situated in Goutham colony after the death of his mother since the last three years.
Senior officer told reporters that the house was in the name of Suresh’s mother and his other siblings living separately used to come home frequently and fight over the share of the property.
The murder came to light when one of the neighbour went to the house and found Suresh lying dead in a pool of blood covered with thick layer of chilli powder.

rushed to the spot and conducted investigations.
The assailant entered into the house through backdoor and attacked him instantly killing him on the spot.
They later ransacked the house to search probably for the documents and valuables and escaped.
We suspect that the assailant tried to search for some important document or it also could be divert the attention of the police to make it look like murder for gain.
The Halasuru police have taken up a case of murder and gathering the CCTV footage from in and around the area to identify the assailant and further investigation is on.
