Sanjaynagar police arrested notorious Rowdy Sheeter after opening fire on his leg

The Sanjaynagar police on Wednesday opened fire and caught a 22-year-old rowdy-sheeter who was wanted in threatening case while securing he attacked a police constable in a bid to escape from being arrested in a vacant plot in Bhoopasandra.

The accused has been identified as,Sharanappa,22 year old.

Senior officer told reporters,a complaint was registered in Sanjaynagar police station in which a victim stated that while he was returning home a unknown person had a argument in trivial row and which turned violent in which he attacked him with a sword and later threatened by passers by by flashing the lethal weapon at them.

Based on complaint a special team was led by ACP,JC Nagar Sub-Division,Smt.Reena Suvarna under the leadership of PI, Balaraj to nab the miscreant.

The team visited the crime spot and after analysing CCTV footage and with the other police technology skills the team got his whereabouts.

The inspector and his team swung into action and surrounded the area near Bhoopasandra as the wanted criminal a rowdy sheeter was hiding at a vacant plot the team started combing the area.

Police Constable Mallappa confronted Sharanappa and tried to catch him,but the accused attacked Mallappa and tried to escape.

Inspector Balaraj,who was at the spot pulled his service revolver and opened one round in air and warned him but as the accused was not ready to heed his warning he again tried to attack the inspector and constable so to save his life and his staff life the inspector opened another round of fire in self defense shot at his leg to stop him from fleeing the team arrested him.

Senior officers visited the spot and said Sharanappa who was involved in over 11 criminal cases had recently attacked a man with a sword three days ago over a trivial row and threatened passers-by by flashing the lethal weapon at them.

Both the injured Police constable Mallappa and accused Sharanappa have been shifted to hospital for treatment and are out of danger.

The Sanjaynagar police have registered a case against the accused for assaulting policemen on duty and further investigating.

Finally Bengaluru Police commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP North,Vinayak Patil,ACP,Smt.Reena Suvarna,PI,Balaraj,constable Mallappa and other staff who were part of the special squad has been appreciated for the commendable and exemplary work done by them a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
