The Byatarayanapura traffic police on Tuesday arrested Shivaraja Hanumantha Parappa Gola,30, BBMP garbage truck driver who knock down a bank employee killing her on the spot at Nayandahalli railway underpass on Monday evening.
Senior officer told reporters,The accused has been identified as Shivaraj was arrested from his house in Kengeri satellite town where he was hiding soon after the accident .
The accused confessed that he was scared of public outrage and escaped from the spot.
Shivaraj told the police that he was not at fault and the scooter rider herself collided with the backside of the truck and came under the wheel after loosing control.
However the police based on the statement of eye witness,an autorickshaw driver booked him under rash and negligence driving and death due to negligence .
The eye witness account said that Shivaraj drove in rash and negligenlty
knocked the scooter and run over Padmini, 40,killing her on the spot .
The deceased Padmini,a bank employee at St marks road was returning home when the accident occurred.She was staying with her mother and has four year old son,senior officer said.
