T he Talaghattapura police on Saturday arrested a 39-year-old habitual offender and recovered five stolen bikes and other valuables worth RS.11.5 lakh from him.
The accused has been identified as,Abubakar Siddique,native of Mysuru and residing in Bannerghatta.
Senior officer told reporters,a complaint was registered by the owner of a car in the Talaghattapura police stating that last Friday some miscreant has stolen his laptop from his car by breaking the windshield of the car and made away with laptop.
Based on complaint special team was formed under the supervision of PI,Talaghattapura,B Siddaraju and his crime staff visited the scene of crime.
After visiting the spot the team started analysing CCTV footage and in one of CCTV footage the team identified the accused and the crime team got to know he is a notorious HBT offender who involved in more than 77 cases and is not attending court the team track down Siddique and recovered the valuables from him.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and it was revealed that he was involved 77 cases of stealing valuables from parked cars and stealing bikes .
The accused was arrested and came out on bail last year and since then involved in 18 theft cases reported in west and south east division.
The accused so far involved in 77 cases and jumped bail and not attending the cases pending against him,has finally landed in police net.
