A revolution in skills development is set to happen in Kalyana Karnataka region,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
The Chief Minister in his address after launching the ‘Skill on Wheels”mobile skills development unit in Kalaburagi said, India has a young population with youth constituting 46% of its population,the highest in the world.
The Skills Development department of the State is providing skills development in various vocations under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Skills Development Scheme.
The department has launched a novel programme of providing skills at the door steps of the youth through the ‘Skill on Wheels,’he said.
The mobile units would provide training in electrician and beautician courses.The project aims to take up large scale skills development programmes in villages to make the youth self employed,Bommai said.

The youth of Kalyana Karnataka should get skills training and get self employed.There is immense potential for that in the region.
There is a huge demand for electricians, plumbers,carpenters and other skilled workers in rural areas.
About 2.50 lakh youth would get the training in various vocations this year.State government has taken a major step to ensure bright future for the youth of the region, Bommai said.
Instructions have been issued for special training in transformer repair in every Gram Panchayat limits which would help the farmers, he said.
