Approval this year for first phase of Revanasiddeshwara Lift Irrigation Project: CM Bommai

The first phase of Revanasiddeshwara Lift Irrigation project would be approved this year itself and irrigation in the region would be given further boost in the coming days,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

The Chief Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone for distribution pipeline work for the first phase of Budihal-Peerapur Lift Irrigation project in Vijayapura.

Responding to MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who in his address earlier spoke about people who prospered in the implementation of Upper Krishna Project,Bommai said,that is in the past.

Things have changed since our government came to power.The 10-20% commission has stopped.

Technical Committee,Tender Scrutiny Committee have been formed to check irregularities in the tendering process.

Instructions have been issued to pass the bills on seniority basis.Transparency is being maintained.”

The Chief Minister lauded the sacrifices made by farmers who have donated their lands for the development projects.

We cannot put a value for their sacrifices.We have to work with dedication to realise the purpose of their sacrifice,Bommai said.

The Chief Minister assured that his government was committed to turn arid regions of the State into irrigated lands bringing prosperity in the lives of the farmers.
