The Parappana Agrahara police are on the massive manhunt for two persons who threw 970 grams of marijuana concealed in plastic covers inside the prison from outside detected by alert security personnel on Thursday night .
In his complaint,Mr.Ranganath said that the accused who had come in a motorcycle threw two covers of banned drugs covered in plastic covers through the high-rise walls from outside into a drain close to quarantine block inside the prison.
The patrolling staff notice the sound and rushed to the spot at around 8.30 pm and seized the covered.
They rushed out to find the two men waiting for the signals.
The duo escaped leaving behind the bike.The vehicle along with the plastic cover was handed over to the police for further investigations.
This is one of the common form of smuggling drugs into the prison,a senior officer said .
Based on the complaint filed by P Ranganath, Chief Superintendent of central prison,the police have stepped up the investigations to track down the accused.
