The Chandra Layout police on Monday arrested two persons and recovered 81.5 kilos of Marijuana from them.
The accused has been identified as,Eeneshwar, 25, from Shivaji Nagar and Nadeem, 25, from Kodigehalli.
Senior officer told reporters,the ACP Kengerigate crime squad received a tip off that in a goods auto rickshaw two persons are transporting drugs in their auto.
Based on information Chandra layout police Inspector,Manoj Huvale and ACP Kengerigate crime squad swung into action and kept a close watch on goods vehicles passing in the area one goods vehicle was seen parked for long time the team got suspect and surrounded the area the team after getting doubt on them and approached them.
After approaching them the team got suspecious on them and intercepted the goods vehicle and found huge amount of narcotics substances concealed under vegetables and the team caught them red handed and secured them.
After taking them to police station the accused confessed the crime and revealed that they used to source the drugs from their contacts in Andhra Pradesh and would smuggle in into the city concealing under the vegetable load in a goods vehicles .
The duo has been booked under NDPS and taken into custody to ascertain their drug network.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP,T Kodandarama,PI,Manoj Huvale and the ACP crime squad who has done a commendable job and excellent investigation in nabbing the duo and recovering marijuana drugs from them a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
