A 62 year old retired employee of private firm ended life by shooting himself from the single barrel gun at his house in coffee board layout in Amruthahalli on thursday.
The deceased Biddappa,was living with his wife and son,a techie after retirement.
Biddappa native of madikeri used to consume alcohol frequently and fight with wife.
On Thursday afternoon wife and son went to meet relatives leaving Biddappa who was drunk.
He took the rifle which was licensed and in the name of his son and shot himself.
Neighbour heard the gun shot from the house and alerted Devaiah who rushed to the spot and found his father lying dead on a chair and head was blown off.
The Amruthahalli police rushed to the spot and conducted spot investigation before shifting the body for post mortem.
There was no death note found and the police are investigating to ascertain the cause of death.
