A 24-year-old final year engineering student from Uganda died after falling from the 6th floor of the hostel campus of Gitamite university at Nagadevanahally in Doddaballapura on Wednesday night .
The deceased has been identified as,Asiina Uwase,24, uganda National.
Senior officers with additional force rushed to spot a violent protest by students broke out soon after students accusing hostel staff delayed in shifting her to hospital led to the death and started pelting stones smashing the window glasses in the campus .
The Police rushed to the spot and resorted to canning to disperse the agitated crowd and brought the situation under control after lathi-charge to disperse the students who were protesting.
The victim has been identified as Asiina Uwase
, pursuing her BBM course and staying in the hostel .
We suspect that she slipped and fallen while trying to pick a cloth.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
Soon after the death,students gathered and vent their ire on no medical facility available and alleged that the staff delayed in taking her to the hospital which eventually led to the death.
They ransacked the premises and pelted stones smashing the glass windows of the college premises,prompting the police to rush to the spot.
It may be recalled that the campus was in news for wrong reason recently as two groups of students belonging to different region clashed over trivial row .
The police are now awaiting post mortem report to ascertain the cause of death while security has been stepped up in the campus to monitor any untoward incident Said a senior officer.
