Direct transfer of grants for beneficiaries; CM sets the goal, will personally monitor the implementation

The officials have been instructed to achieve the goal of ensuring direct transfer of grants under various welfare schemes for the beneficiaries and I will personally monitor its implementation, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

The Chief Minister was speaking after launching the ‘Kalyana Mitra’helpline for the citizens and a professional capacity building workshop for the officials of the Social Welfare department.

“The era of change has started, the days of alibis are over.The government is doing so much for education and improving the income of the weaker sections.

The Social Welfare department should work with mercurial dynamism.It is the work that will uplift these communities,not mere slogans.

The funds allocated for the welfare of these sections should reach them without any hitch,” Bommai said.

Hard work of the people spurs economic growth. The farmers and labour are the main pillars of the economy.

The State government has drawn up many programmes for the welfare of backward classes, SC and ST communities.

A 5 year programme has to be formulated for the development of SC, ST communities.An Anchor Bank is being created for the purpose.

A grant of Rs.28,000 cr has been provided for the welfare of SC and ST communities.Self employment schemes,Rs.2 lakh grant for housing, Rs.20 lakh grant for purchase of land are being implemented.

All these benefits should reach them directly without any hurdles,Bommai said and appreciated the helpline being launched as a very good initiative to serve the beneficiaries.
