India and Italy have had a strong cultural and business relationship for a long time.We will extend full cooperation to strengthen the ties between Italy and Karnataka,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai assured an Italian delegation led by External Affairs minister of italy Luigi Di Maio,which called on him on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion Luigi Di Maio said,Italy is keen to have good relations with Karnataka and invited Bommai to visit Italy.
Reciprocating the gesture Bommai said, the delegation understands the importance of Bengaluru and Karnataka at international level.
It is appreciable that Italy is keen to strengthen its ties with Bengaluru and Karnataka.
There are many Mable,Tiles and Tyre manufacturing plants functioning for over 40 years in and around Bengaluru.of them 99% are using Italian machinery, Bommai said.
Responding to the interest shown by the Italian delegation in the Science sector, Bommai said, science is a part of daily life for people of Karnataka.Bengaluru is a Science City. The education and thinking process is highly scientific.
Karnataka is in the forefront in Science,Research,Technology, Startups and Unicorns, IT and BT sectors.
The Maharajas of Mysore laid the foundation stone for the growth of these sectors 150 years ago.
Public sector majors like HMT, BHEL, BEL created a conducive ecosystem for the growth of science and technology in Bengaluru, Bommai said.
State government is giving a boost to setting up Startups and Unicorns.Bengaluru is the science and financial capital of India and it is the future of the country, Bommai said.
