Digital platform is the in thing now: CM Bommai

Dr B Thomas (Special correspondent)

Digital platform is the in thing now,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said in his address after launching Zee’s Technology and Innovation Centre.

If one understands the power of Digital platform and the technology, even sky is not the limit for the possibilities it throws up.

It is only appropriate that Zee has established its Digital platform in Bengaluru, the digital capital of India,Bommai said.

No other city in the country can boast of the ecosystem that Bengaluru has for technology. “Bengaluru is the Silicon valley after San Francisco.

Our competition is only with Silicon Valley in San Francisco, not with any other city. The others who try to compete are nowhere near,” Bommai said.

The State government is ramping up infrastructure, technological support and investment to retain Bengaluru and Karnataka’s lead position.

Bengaluru has the highest number of Unicorns. The city is home for 70% of India’s Unicorns. About 50% of the Startups in the country are housed in Bengaluru,Bengaluru and Karnataka are attracting 40% of the Direct Foreign Investment of the country,Bommai said.

The State government would do everything to retain this edge. The Zee group has reposed its faith in Bengaluru by establishing its Digital and Data platform in the city.

The Karnataka government would like to be part of it.Let us walk together with private and government sectors working together,Bommai said.
