The State government would issue an order to distribute sites and houses for the acid attack victims.
They would be provided an assistance of upto Rs.5 lakh under self employment scheme,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced.
The Chief Minister was speaking after launching a helpline ‘Hello Revenue Minister-Pension at doorstep in 72 Hours’started by the Revenue department.
Acid attack victims undergo acute mental agony, rejection by the society.It is the responsibility of the government to rush to their aid.
In this regard their monthly pension has been raised from Rs3000 to Rs10000.Apart from this they would be provided site and housing.
Financial assistance upto Rs.5 lakh for self employment so that they could lead a life of dignity on their own,” Bommai said.
Decentralisation of power
Reiterating his commitment to make the administration responsive and take the services to the doors of the citizens,Bommai said,the programme to deliver Revenue documents to the doors of the farmers has been launched.This will help over 50 lakh families.
The social security pensions should be delivered at the doors of the beneficiaries.The new initiative would fulfill this objective.
New dynamism is being induced into the functioning of the Revenue department.The objective of decentralization of power is to see that the administration machinery flows smoothly from Vidhana Soudha to the doors of the citizens seamlessly.
Power should not remain frozen in Vidhana Soudha.It should flow like honey to the beneficiaries,Bommai said.
Bommai advocated the need to maintain constant contact with the people and said,then only democracy would succeed.”
Recalling his first day in office on assuming charge as the Chief Minister,he said,the decision to launch Vidya Nidhi scholarship scheme for the children of farmers’families was the first decision I took in my first cabinet meeting.
Sandhya Suraksha,Widow’s pension and pension for the physically challenged have been raised. The pension for acid victims has been raised from Rs3000 to Rs10000.”
The state budget has many such welfare schemes for the welfare of the poor.The number of Dialysis Cycle machines have been increased from 30000 to 60,000 to provide free dialysis service for the poor,11 new cancer treatment chemotherapy centres are being set up for the benefit of cancer patients,scheme has been launched for medical examination and cataract surgery for the senior citizens,cochlear implants are being distributed for the hearing impaired, Bommai said.
A massive initiative to make the administration responsive and deliver the services at the doorsteps of the citizens has been launched.
Major reforms are being initiated.This is a government with humane conscience.Our government will not hesitate to take hard decisions to improve the life of the common man,Bommai said.
