CM Bommai interacts with school children;Student Chaitanya thanks Government for the aid to children who lost their parents due to Covid pandemic

It was a heart touching moment for Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai as Kumari Chaitanya from Jeevan Jai Hind School in Hosakere recalled the grief after she lost her parents to Covid pandemic and thanked the government for the monthly aid of Rs3500 she is getting.

The Chief Minister turned emotional as the girl said,I want to study well and become a Doctor,during his interaction with the students.

The Chief Minister interacted with the school students after inaugurating the academic year and he distributed free books welcoming the students back to school in Tumakuru.

Responding to Chaitanya’s words,Bommai said,”the State government is providing Vidya Nidhi scholarships for children of farmers’ families.

A scheme to adopt the children who lost their parents due to Covid pandemic.The orphaned children are being paid a monthly financial aid of Rs3500 and are bearing their education cost.You pursue your studies.You will succeed,assuring full help from the government.

The Chief Minister also assured the students of providing best infrastructure in government schools.

Sports goods would be provided to schools.Last year Rs.5 cr was allocated for the purpose.This year Rs.10 cr would be spent to purchase sports goods for schools,he said.

Nutritious food

Reacting to a request from Rakesh of Government High School in Thondagere for nutritious food, Bommai responded,Akshara Dasoha scheme with nutritious food has been formulated.

Nutritious food is very important for children for their growth and learning. Special measures would be taken to improve the nutrition value of the food being served for school children.”

Bicycle

Responding to a question of Amulya from Bellavi Government High School on distribution of bicycles,Bommai assured,the schools could not function properly over the last two years due to Covid pandemic.

Schools have reopened this year.Attend the classes regularly,cycles would be provided.

Reacting to requests from students of Chikkanahalli Government School,the Chief Minister said,about Rs.1000 cr has been granted this year for construction of class rooms.

About 6500 new classrooms are being built.I will order for construction of 2 new classrooms for Chikkanahalli school.”

Purvika from North Layout Government Higher Primary School asked the Chief Minister as to what is the difference between the education during his childhood and now,Bommai said, during his childhood days it was teacher-centric.

The teachers used to teach Science, History, Geography lessons in an interesting way by narrating stories.

But now you have the internet.You can learn a lot on your own.Technology is very important.This is the difference.Both are best if we follow the teacher and study.

Then there was knowledge,now there is knowledge and technology.You should learn to use both to compete at international level,he said.
