Over one month after filing complaint against a Pro Hindu activist for spreading communal hatred on social media,the police have registered an FIR against Chandru Mogar, co-ordinator of Hindu Jana Jagruthi Samithi, on Friday.
The FIR was registered against him based on a court directions following which he was charged under section 153 a ( promoting enmity between two groups) and also under criminal intimidation.
Chadru Mogar who launched a campaign on social media calling Hindu community members to boycott muslim fruit vendors.
He claimed that the muslim vendors spit on the fruits and bread before selling and termed it as spit jihad and asked the members to end the monopoly of muslim traders on fruit business .
Taking a serious objection city based social activist Zia R Nomani and his associates approached Sanjay Nagar police and filed a complaint on April 6,but the police refused to register FIR citing that they are seeking legal opinion to proceed further.
Meanwhile the activist filed a complaint with the city police commissioner and the Home minister accusing him of spreading communal hatred.
After repeated approach Mr.Nomani approached the court and filed a private complaint and got issued a directions to the police to register an FIR and investigate,the matter.
Reacting to the development,Mr, Nomani said “ I hope that police will investigate the matter diligently and the accused will be published as per specified law.
