PC Mohan holds review meeting with General Manager,Sanjeev Kishore on Railway infrastructure & developmental issues

MP,P C Mohan took stock of progress of ROB at Carmelaram and RUB at Bellandur.Mohan stated that he will advise the local authorities suitably to quickly complete land acquisition & shift the electrical utilities to fast track these projects.

PC Mohan,MP (Bengaluru Central) held review meeting on the railway infrastructure development related works with Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager,SWR.

The issues related to the construction of Road Over Birdge in lieu of LC 132 at Carmelaram, construction of RUB at Panathur (Bellandur) were discussed in detail.

The Member of Parliament was briefed that the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) of the ROB has been already approved,and the work has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs. 48.16 crores.

Approx 2465 sqm land is required for the approaches of the ROB.It was informed that Railways will call for tender by the end of this month, and they are liaisoning very closely with BBMP for land acquisition.

The MP assured that he will coordinate with the Hon’ble MLA of the area and advise BBMP/local authorities to make the land available at the earliest to fast track the work.

The railway authorities briefed the Hon’ble MP that the box-casting work for the RUB (Road Under Bridge) near Bellandur Station (Panathur) has been completed for one vent & temporary girder will be inserted on 22.5.22.

Railways has completed this task quickly after receiving tree-cutting permission from Forest department in April 2022.

This is a deposit work and BBMP has proposed for construction of 2 vents,at an estimated cost of Rs.10.4 crores.

The casting of RCC boxes for second vent can be taken only after shifting of the electrical cables and utilities (transformers) by BESCOM.

MP,PC Mohan assured that he will discuss with the Hon’ble MLA of the area and advise BESCOM authorities so that the project is executed quickly.

This RUB will provide 2 wide (6.5 m x 9 m) vents which will facilitate the smooth movement of traffic between Panathur Dinne and Bellandur area.

PC Mohan also discussed about increasing the frequency of the train services to KIAL.He recalled that he had travelled on board the inaugural run of the train service in January 2021.

This service had been started after due consultation with KIAL authorities regarding the frequency and timings.

He directed that another round of consultation be held with airport authorities regarding the same, with a view to increase frequency and patronage.

General Manager,Sanjeev Kishore assured the MP of prompt action on the same.
