he Talaghattapura police on Saturday arrested three persons including a couple and recovered gold and diamond valuables worth RS 1.2 crore from them.
The accused have been identified as Ratna Kumar Reddy,40,his wife Tahsin Fathima,36 and brother-in-law Arshad Nadeem,34.
Senior officials told reporters,on April 28th had stolen the gold and diamond valuables from the car parked in union bank of India premises in Talaghattapura.
The owner of the car had withdrawn the valuables from the locker,kept it in th car and went to the nursery adjacent to the bank to buy plants,when they returned they noticed that some miscreants has broke open the windshield of the car and escaped with the bag containing the Jewels.
Based on complaint,Senior officers as Addl CP,West,Sandeep Patil,DCP South,Harish Pandey, with other officers with dog squad and FSL team rushed to the spot and after inspecting the spot and verifying CCTV footage it was found that someone has followed their movements and has escaped with Valuables.
Special teams were formed under the leadership of DCP,South,Harish Pandey ACP,TM Shivakumar,a team headed by PI,G Siddaraju and his crime staff swung into action and visited the crime scene during investigation with the technical inputs and police technology skills the team identified the suspect.
Based on his identity and with the crime records the team tracked the accused to his home town in Andhra Pradesh.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and based on his in formation the police team raided the apartment in Chennai and arrested his wife,Tahsin,and recovered the jewels worth Rs.5 lakh which the accuse had given it to her.
The remaining valuables we have recovered from Nadeem,who confessed that his brother-in-law Ratna Kumar had given it to him to dispose.
The Talaghattapura police have taken the trio into custody and are investigating further.
A detailed investigation by the team has revealed that Ratna Kumar is part of the infamous OG Kuppam Gang operating in and around the city since 2015.
With their arrest the team has recovered stolen gold and diamond Ornaments worth Rs.1.2 Crore from them.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy,has appreciated Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil,DCP South,Harish Pandey,ACP,TM Shivakumar, PI,G Siddaraju,PSIs,as, Chidananda Navi,Puttegowda, Shrikanth Pammar,and crime staff as,Naveen Kumar KL,Narasimhamurthy, Nagaraju,Ravi,Sagar VC,Srinivas,Shivu,Imran Khan,Sharath Kumar and others has been appreciated for the commendable and meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing the Notorious OG Kuppam Gang a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
