As many as 32 foreign nationals including 19 males and 13 females detained by north east division police in a special drive launched on Monday.
Dr Anoop A Shetty,DCP,Northeast Division,told reporters that the drive is to check foreigners overstaying without valid documents.
During raid we found most of the detained are from African countries whose ID’S and addresses could not be verified.
They are being questioned and legal action will be taken against them,Mr.Shetty,said .
Recently the district police also carried similar drive to check on the illegal immigrants staying at labour colonies in the outskirts of the city snd working as garbage collectors.
The CCB officials also carried similar drive in February and detained 27 foreign nationals, including 11 women,for not having the travel documents in order and have been sent to the detention centre and cases have been handed over to the FRRO for further action.
