T he traffic police have launched a drive to penalize the motorists riding with fancy and distorted number plates and sought the help of members of general public to enforce the rules .
Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda,Joint Commissioner of Police,(traffic),said in a release that the fancy number plates with logos and names other than the specified design is illegal and will be dealt with seriously,he said adding that the traffic police have already launched drivers to identify such vehicles through enforcement cameras,digital FTVR (Field Traffic violation report)and spot fines .
However for the effective enforcement of the rules,the members of the general public should join hands and inform the traffic police about such vehicles through Public-eye app .
People who come across such vehicles having fancy and distorted registrations plates with logos and names,designation on the plates should click the pics and uploaded on traffic police FB page @ bangaloretrafficpolice or at the twitter account @blrcitytraffic,or whatsapp number on 9480801800,or the gmail address of traffic police bangaloretrafficpolice@gmail.com or tmcbtp@gmail.com.The information shared will be kept confidential,Mr.Gowda,said.
He further said,The public can also join hands with the traffic police and report those who violate the rule by using the Public Eye, an app against autorickshaw drivers who don’t wear uniforms and put on display cards.
Against this backdrop, the public has been asked to collaborate with Public Eye.The photos of those who violate traffic rules on Public Eye App are kept confidential says release.
