-Galla S Kiran Kumar,Bureau Chief Telagana( Andhra Pradesh)

Hyderabad: Minister of State for Municipal Affairs KTR has asked the Union government to sanction more smart cities for Telangana, which has a large urban population. The Minister released the Annual Report of the Municipal Department for the year 2021-22 at Nanakranguda, Hyderabad. KTR said that during the past one year, a number of initiatives have been taken to develop infrastructure, civic services and planned development in urban areas, including Hyderabad. He said the SNDP would further cite the program undertaken to tackle the problem of flooding in the suburbs. KTR revealed that it aims to complete 10 specified programs in all towns this year.

No matter how well it works, problems will continue.

“We will appoint ward officers on the lines of panchayat secretaries. This year we will replace all without leaving a single post blank. We are sincerely trying to make Hyderabad and urban areas without problems. No matter how well you work in the municipal department, problems persist. You have to look at them from a positive perspective, not through a media magnifying glass. The Nitish Aayog estimates that by 2050, 50 per cent of the country’s population will be in cities. But in Telangana, the change will come by 2025. The onus is on the government to take appropriate action accordingly. We are moving forward with the goal of placing Hyderabad, a leader in many indexes, among the top 30 cities in the world, not just other cities in the country. Hyderabad is a leader in real estate and housing. Housing prices have also come down in Hyderabad as compared to other cities in the country. Hyderabad surpassed Bangalore last year in terms of office space. Telangana is the only state in the country that is moving forward with inclusive development in all sectors.

27 km bicycle track on the OR.

Hyderabad has been the best residential city for six consecutive years. We have undertaken the construction of 37 link roads in Hyderabad. We will install LED lighting on ORR at a cost of Rs 100 crore and construct a 27 km cycle track. Construction of 14 bridges over the Moose River will begin soon. Hyderabad is the only city to have 100 per cent sewage treatment through STPs costing Rs 3,800 crore. The state received 12 awards in the clean survey. More awards are likely to come this time if the center acts transparently. The Center needs to look specifically at Telangana, which has a large urban population. We will allocate completed and ongoing houses to the beneficiaries this year. Musi, we will move those who have built houses on the canals there. Nala completed my safety audit as the rainy season approached. We expect big problems during the monsoon season. We will take action without any difficulty for the twin reservoirs in the wake of the lifting of sanctions in 111 GEO. It is not appropriate to politicize the decision taken after decades of appeals by the local people, ”KTR said.
