State government has provided Rs.857.5 cr additional grants for various Corporations coming under the departments of SC,ST, Backward Classes and Minorities Development departments.
The decision would amount to providing a total grant of Rs.3172 Cr for the various welfare programmes being undertaken by 19 Corporations coming under these departments.
According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s office,the grant would enable these corporations to extend their welfare schemes for more number of beneficiaries under schemes like Ganga Kalyana,land ownership,micro credit,self employment and education loans.
The additional grants would give further boost for welfare programmes for the SC,ST,Backward and Minority communities.
The respective Corporations have to prepare the action plans for effective utilisation of the funds, Bommai said.
