The JC Nagar police on Saturday arrested two habitual offenders and recovered six two wheelers and five mobile phones worth Rs.5.9 lakh from them.
The accused has been identified as,Syed Nazim, 23 and Syed Ali, 26 from Shivaji Nagar
Senior officer told reporters,a complaint was filed in JC Nagar police station by a victim whose mobile was snatched by miscreants the complainant said that on 23rd while on morning walk two unknown person came on bike and robbed his mobile phone.
Based on complaint special team was formed under ACP,JC Nagar, Sub-Division,Smt.N Reena Suvarna a team headed by PI,DH Muniyappa and his crime staff swung into action.
The police team analysed the CCTV footage and identified the accused and picked them for questioning.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and it is revealed that they used to steal bikes parked in front of the houses and using the stolen bikes target morning walkers to rob their valuables .
On May 23,the accused robbed a mobile phone from a morning walker on Benson cross.
A detailed investigation by the team it is revealed that the duo are habitual offenders arrested earlier for similar charges.
After coming out on bail,the duo ganged up and continue with the robberies.
With their arrest the police managed to solve seven robbery and bike theft cases reported in and around the city in the last six months.
