A 34-year-old autorickshaw driver was killed and several vehicles damaged in a serial accident occurred outside Satellite bus stand on the busy Mysuru road on Monday morning.
Senior officer with Bytarayanapura Traffic cops rushed to spot and after taking stock of the situation and collecting information from the officers said,the autorickshaw driver identified as GiriSagar stuck in the mangled autorickshaw between a goods vehicle and volvo bus until passers-by rushed to his help,pulled him out and shifted him to a near-by hospital where he succumbed later.
The accident occurred at around 6.30 am in the morning when a canter heading from Hosaguddahalli junction towards Bapuji Nagar drove in rash and negligent manner collided with a goods vehicle moving ahead .
Due to the impact the goods vehicle collided with the autorickshaw which stucked between the goods vehicle and volvo bus.
The accused driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene soon after the accident .
Traffic movement on the busy road was disrupted for an hour till Bya
tarayanapura traffic police rushed to the spot and pulled out the damaged vehicles to allow free flow of traffic.
The Bytarayanapura Traffic police have registered a case against the driver charging him under section 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) section 304 (causes the death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide) and section 134 and various section of Motor Vehicle Act he said.
