he Halasuru police has raided a rave party in a five star hotel in the wee hours of monday in which Bollywood actor Siddhanth Kapoor son of Shakti Kapoor among five others has been arrested and released on bail for consuming drugs in Rave Party.
The East division police have stepped up the investigations and questioning Siddhanth Kapoor and his associates to ascertain the source of drugs .
The accused Siddhanth ad his friends Akhil Soni, a business manager with a private firm,Harjot Singh,operational manager with a Logistic company,Hani Rafeeque,working for a digital marketing firm and Akhil,a freelance photographer have been subjected for medical examination.
Senior officer told reporters the Park hotel situated on MG road where the police conducted the raid late on Sunday night,based on a tip off rounded up over 35 persons who were found intoxicated.
They were subjected for medical examination among then five including Siddhanth found to be under the influence of drugs.
The police have seized their mobile phones and analyzing the CDR to ascertain the source of drugs and their network .
There were around 2100 people gathered at the party including some highly influential personalities who have vacated the premises minutes before the raid.
The police are also verifying their identities.The police combed the area to check for the drugs and found some amount of contrabands at the premises .
Senior officer told reporters,they raided a five-star hotel in the Karnataka capital and took into custody 35 guests on the basis of a tip-off.
After a medical test,Siddhanth,Akhil Soni, business manager at a software company; Harjot Singh, logistics head at a startup; Hani Rafeeque, a digital marketing professional; and Akhil, a freelance photographer,were arrested.
Police say they have seized seven tablets of MDMA and a small amount of marijuana in the dustbin and that the actor, who was the disc jockey at the party, tested positive for banned drugs.
The five accused were booked under Section 22a (where the contravention involves small quantity), 22b (where the contravention involves quantity lesser than commercial quantity but greater than small quantity) and 27 (where the narcotic drug or psychotropic substance consumed is other than those specified) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Late in the midnight after detailed investigation the Halasuru police released All 5 on station bail and further they will appear before police as and when called said a senior officer.
The police are now probing to ascertain who organized the party and source of the drugs .
