Residents of the pipeline road near Ayyappa temple in Jalahalli were rudely woken up as a private bus crashed into the gate of one of the residential house in the early hours of Sunday.
The bus belonging to a private company and the driver was taking the bus from office to parking space when the incident occurred,The driver due to rash and negligent driving lost control and plough into the gate.
Due to the impact and thunderous sound residents woke up and rushed out to check. Sensing trouble the driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped .
Luckily no one was injured as except the driver the bus was empty and no people on the street were present.
However the front portion of the bus and the gate and compound wall was damaged .
The Peenya traffic police rushed to the spot and pulled out the bus and looking out for the driver.
We suspect that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and this led to the accident.
However efforts are on to track down the driver, a senior police officer, said .
