It was a perfect murder planned and executed by a carpenter who strangled a 27-year-old labourer to death in an isolated place in the outskirt of the city and set fire to the body after pouring petrol on the night of October,30 last year.
The police recovered the highly decomposed body from the outskirt of Bagepalli two days later and recovered the tailor mark.
The police registered a case of murder and Superintendent of Police,Mithun Kumar GK, formed a special team to trace the identity of the deceased .
The police reached SS Mens wear in DJ halli and with the help of tailor book identified the deceased as Syed Mustafa,a construction labourer from DJ Halli and was missing for the past few days.
With the help of of local police recovered CDR details and found that he was having an affair with his neighbour.
Suspecting that the murder could be having a link with this the police summoned the woman who confessed about the affair and told the police that she suspect her husband behind the mysteriously missing case of Mustafa.
The police picked up Babavali who after a detailed investigations confessed that he killed Mustafa to take revenge.
Babavali,38,a carpenter by profession came to know that Mustafa having an affair with his wife and used to have frequent fight with her.
Unable to bear the harassment the wife told him that she does not like him anymore,which irked Babavali and decided to eliminate Mustafa.
As per the plan he pretended that he did not know anything about the affair and befriended him before inviting him to his hometown in Bagepalli for a party.
Mustafa readily agreed and on the fateful day Babavali borrowed the autorickshaw and along with Mustafa drove to the outskirt of Bagepalli where he offered him liquor.
After couple of rounds when Mustafa was fully intoxicated,Babavali strangulated him to death and poured petrol on the body and set it on fire before returning home and lived with his wife .

The police arrested Babavali on the charges of murder and destroying evidence and remanded him to judicial custody said a senior officer.
