The arrest of Three drug peddlers by Banaswadi police during random vehicle check few days ago turned out to be notorious most wanted muggers as chain snatchers who caused nightmare to the residents walking alone and also to the jurisdictional police.
The accused Rohit Jussain,23,Mohammed Rizwan,20 and Mohammed Sadiq,20, from KG halli were intercepted by the police while they were riding triple on the scooter.
Dr Bheemashankar S Guled,DCP, East division, told reporters the Banaswadi Police while conducting a random vehicle checking noticed a tripple ridding bike and flagged them down.
The staff asked them to produce the documents but they failed to produce the documents and the team got suspecious on them and secured all the trio and took them to station for further investigation.
The Inspector of Banaswadi Police station Santhosh Kumar L and his crime team checked their pockets and found narcotics substance in their possession the team arrested them under NDPS Act and took them into custody.
The team grilled them during investigation and the accused spilled the beans and it was revealed that they are Notorious muggers who was wanted in many cases of chain snatching reported in the city.
A detailed investigation by the team it was found that the accused Rohith Sadiq and Rizwan had stolen the scooter from a Airforce staffer few days ago after threatening him with a dagger.
Using the robbed motorcycle the accused started snatching gold valuables from women walking alone.
Though the police have recovered CCTV footage and the images of the scooter,they could not be tracked until the team of police from Banaswadi confronted them during random vehicle check.
The police recovered 3 lakhs worth of MDMA,stolen bikes and 425 grams of gold valuables altogether worth of Rs.22 lakhs from them.
The accused are drug addicts and also used to rob people to use the money for their vices he said.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP East,A subramanyeshwara Rao,DCP East,Dr Bheemashankar S Guled,ACP,Ningappa B Sakkari,PI,Santhosh Kumar L,PSIs,as, Nagaraj Nedalgi,Shahjahan Sanndhi,ASI,Prakash and crime staff as,Manjunath N, Rangaswamy,Balaji,Renuka Nayak,Anand,Suresh Nagannavar,Santhosh Rathod,Ateef Hussain,Chandsab,Govindaraju,Vinod,Karnappa, and others has been successful in recovering gold chains from the trio and a suitable reward will be given to whole team for the excellent and tireless efforts done in recovering the property from the trio muggers he added.
