: The Indian Meteorological Department has revealed that the Southwest Monsoon has become very active in all parts of the country. The IMD informed that the surface trough is continuing from West Central Bay of Bengal to Odisha – Coastal Andhra coast. On the other hand, another surface trough is also continuing from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan to West Central Bay of Bengal. Due to the impact of all these, heavy to very heavy rains are falling in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also receiving heavy rains due to the influence of southwest monsoon. It has been raining incessantly for the last three to four days in many parts of the two states. Streams and bends are overflowing with continuous rains. Due to heavy rains, many ponds in Bodhan constituency of Nizamabad district are overflowing. Navipet mandal Jannapalli large pond drains. Locals say that there has never been such a big landslide in the past. In the suburbs of Lingapur in the mandal, the Tungini Matu canal broke in many places due to the rise of flood and water entered the crop fields and around hundred acres of crops were submerged.
Coal production stalled in Bhadradri..
Due to heavy rains in Bhadradri-Kottagudem district, flood water has entered the coal mines of Manuguru area. 32 thousand tons of coal production was disrupted due to heavy rain. Officials are pumping out rainwater with the help of 17 heavy motors. On the other hand, the stored coal is being transported. Coal supply has stopped in surface mines in Manchiryala district as well. 20 thousand tons of coal production was disrupted. The movement of 1.20 lakh cubic meters of soil has been stopped.
The people of Lankan villages are in trouble.
As the rains are falling in Andhra Pradesh too, the people of Lanka villages are suffering. 1,20,000 cusecs of flood water was released into the sea at Dhavaleshwaram Barrage today.The flood water has entered the banks of Vashishta Vainiteya Gautami Godavari river below the barrage. A temporary road was cut off at Burugulanka jetty in P. Gannavaram mandal of Konaseema district due to flood water reaching the subsidiary banks of Vashishta Godavari. Because of this, the people of Arigelawaripeta, Burgulanka, Udumudi Lanka, Ji Pedapudi Lanka villages are resorting to natu boats for commuting. Locals say that they will face flood problems from now till the end of October. As there are indications of moderate to heavy rains in many places, fishermen have been warned not to go fishing in the Coastal Andhra region.
